How to Get a Free Dental Quote from Albania Using Your X-Ray

Nobody should book a flight on the basis of a price list.

A price list tells you what a crown costs. It does not tell you how many crowns you need, whether the tooth underneath one of them is savable, or whether there is an infection sitting under a bridge you have had for fifteen years. Those are the things that move a quote by thousands.

Here is how to get a real, itemised, personal treatment plan from Tirana without leaving home, and how to tell a good quote from a vague one.

What to Send for an Accurate Dental Quote

1. A Panoramic X-Ray, Called an OPG

This is the single most valuable thing you can send. One image showing every tooth, both jaws, the bone level, the sinuses, the jaw joints, and any infection hiding at the root of a tooth that has never given you trouble.

An OPG is what turns an estimate into a plan. Without it we are guessing from the outside of your teeth.

2. Photographs

Three at minimum:

• A relaxed face, looking straight at the camera, lips together
• A full natural smile
• A close up of your teeth with the lips pulled back, upper and lower together

Two more that help a great deal:

• Upper teeth photographed from above, biting surfaces visible
• Lower teeth from below, same

A phone camera in daylight is completely adequate. Do not use flash close up, because it washes out exactly the detail we are looking at. Standing near a window works better than any amount of technique.

3. A Short Description in Your Own Words

What bothers you, how long it has been going on, whether anything hurts and when, what previous treatment you have had, and what you are actually hoping for. That last part matters more than people expect. Two patients with identical X-rays can want completely different things.

4. Medical Basics

Medications you take, particularly blood thinners and bisphosphonates. Diabetes and whether it is well controlled. Whether you smoke and how much. Any heart valve or joint replacement history.

These are not administrative box ticking. Every one of them changes surgical planning, and a couple of them change whether surgery happens at all.

How to Get a Panoramic X-Ray if You Do Not Have One

Most people assume this requires being a registered patient somewhere. It usually does not.

Any dental practice and most private imaging centres will take an OPG as a standalone service for a modest fee, and will give you the digital file. Ask specifically for the file, as a JPG, PNG or DICOM, rather than a printed copy or a link that expires. Email it to yourself so you have it permanently. It is your record and you are entitled to it.

If you genuinely cannot get one, send photographs anyway. We can give you a realistic range and a likely direction of treatment from good photographs alone. It simply means the first quote carries a wider margin and is confirmed once we image you at the clinic.

A CT scan, called a CBCT, gives far more information for implant planning, but it is not needed at the quoting stage. We take one at the clinic before any surgery, and it is included.

What a Proper Dental Treatment Plan Contains

When our team replies, normally within 24 hours, you should receive all of the following. Use this as a checklist against any clinic, including us.

• The treatments recommended, tooth by tooth, not as a lump

• The crown, bridge or veneer material, named
• The number of units of each item
• Price per item and a total
• The number of trips and days required, and the gap between them
• What is included, such as airport transfers, CT scanning and accommodation coordination
• The guarantee terms, in writing

Why a Dental Quote Can Change Once You Arrive

It usually does not. But it can, and an honest clinic tells you that in advance rather than in the chair.

The reasons are always clinical:

• The X-ray shows a shadow that turns out to be an infection needing treatment before anything else happens
• Bone volume at an implant site is lower than a two dimensional image suggested, so a bone graft is added. A CT scan is the only way to know this properly
• A tooth planned for a crown turns out to be unrestorable once the old filling is removed, and needs extraction instead
• Gum disease is found which has to be stabilised first, as covered in our gum health guide
