Free airport transfer
included for every patient
Arriving in a country you have never visited, carrying luggage, after a flight, without knowing where the clinic or hotel is, is stressful in a way that nobody needs when they are about to undergo medical treatment. The free airport transfer removes all of that.
When you confirm your booking with Andent Clinic, your coordinator organises a driver to meet you at the arrivals hall of Tirana International Airport. Your name is on a sign. No waiting at a taxi rank, no negotiating a fare, no trying to navigate an unfamiliar city from a phone screen. You walk out, get in, and arrive at the hotel or the clinic.
The return transfer is also included. When your treatment is complete, your coordinator arranges the car back to the airport for your departure day. You do not need to think about transport at either end of your trip.
Send your flight details to the coordinator
WhatsApp or email your flight number and arrival time before you travel. This is usually confirmed when the treatment schedule is finalised.
The driver tracks your flight in real time
If your flight is delayed, the driver knows. You will not land to find no one waiting because your flight arrived 40 minutes late.
Look for the sign with your name
Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a printed card showing your name. No pre-arranged meeting point, no phone calls to find each other.

Free return transferA 4-star hotel
5 minutes from the clinic door
Andent Clinic has a partnership with a 4-star hotel in central Tirana that has been hosting the clinic’s patients for years. The hotel knows the specific needs of dental patients, including soft food availability, quiet rest periods, and flexible check-in for patients arriving after a long flight.
The hotel is close enough to the clinic that patients can walk between appointments on days when they feel well enough, and the journey is short enough for an Uber on days when they prefer not to walk. The hotel staff are experienced with international guests and English is spoken at reception without difficulty.
The clinic coordination team books the hotel on your behalf. You do not need to search for accommodation or navigate Albanian booking platforms. The room is arranged, the rate is the patient rate negotiated with the hotel, and the invoice comes separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
No transport needed between hotel and clinic for most appointments.
Hotel kitchen accommodates patients on post-operative dietary restrictions. Soup, yogurt, soft pasta, and pureed options available on request.
Work remotely during your stay. Reliable connection throughout all rooms and public areas.
On-site gym available for patients who want to maintain their routine between appointments.
The hotel accommodates early arrivals and late departures where possible, particularly useful for early morning flights on departure day.
Patients who bring a companion can book a double room at comparable rates. Companions are welcome and encouraged, particularly for surgical patients.
- Partner discount rate negotiated by Andent Clinic for all patients
- Breakfast included in most room options
- In-room air conditioning and blackout curtains for post-operative rest
- 24-hour front desk staffed by English-speaking team
- Restaurant and bar on site for patients who prefer not to go out
- Pharmacy within 200 metres for any post-operative medication needs
- Booking arranged by the coordination team, no separate reservation needed
What is around the clinic
in central Tirana
The Blloku neighbourhood where Andent Clinic is based is the most vibrant and walkable part of Tirana. Coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies, parks, and cultural landmarks are all within a 10-minute walk. Patients who have free time between appointments have no shortage of things to do within easy distance.
Getting around the city
during your stay
Tirana is a compact and navigable city for international visitors. Most of what dental patients need is walkable from the clinic and hotel. For longer journeys, the transport options are affordable and reliable.
Tirana: the city you did not
expect to love this much
Most patients arrive in Tirana having formed their expectations from a combination of the word Albania and a vague memory of news from the 1990s. Most of them leave with a very different impression. Tirana has been transforming rapidly for the past two decades, and the city that exists today is vibrant, relatively affordable, safe, and genuinely interesting.
The food is the most consistent surprise. Albanian cuisine draws on Mediterranean, Balkan, and Ottoman influences in ways that produce dishes of real quality. Grilled meats, local dairy, fresh vegetables, and fish from the Adriatic coast all feature prominently. A three-course meal with wine at a good restaurant in the Blloku district costs 15 to 25 euros per person. The equivalent in London or Zurich would cost three to four times as much.
The history of the communist era is more present in Tirana than most visitors expect, and it is handled with intelligence. The Bunk’Art museums, the former Sigurimi building, and the various communist-era monuments still standing across the city provide a layer of 20th-century history that is genuinely worth engaging with. The National History Museum on Skanderbeg Square has recently been renovated and is one of the better national history museums in the region.
For patients staying 5 to 7 days, the city provides more than enough to fill the time between appointments. Day trips to the beach at Durrës, the medieval castle at Krujë, or the Ottoman bazaar town of Berat are all easily manageable and add a travel dimension to what is otherwise a medical trip.
Skanderbeg Square
The main civic square of Tirana, flanked by the National History Museum, the Et’hem Bey Mosque, and the National Opera. The centrepiece is the equestrian statue of the Albanian national hero. Lively at any hour, particularly in the evening.
12 min walk from Andent ClinicLa Piramide (the Pyramid)
The most photographed structure in Tirana: the former mausoleum of communist dictator Enver Hoxha, now a youth cultural centre. Visitors can climb its sloped concrete sides and see the city from the top. An unusual and unmissable Tirana experience.
10 min walk from Andent ClinicBunk’Art 2
A former nuclear bunker built under the Ministry of the Interior during the communist era, converted into a museum documenting the Sigurimi secret police. One of the most viscerally interesting museums in the Balkans. Not comfortable, but important and unique.
15 min walk from Andent ClinicThe Blloku neighbourhood
The clinic’s own neighbourhood, once restricted to the communist elite and now the most fashionable part of the city. Excellent coffee, good restaurants, street art, and the easiest walking in the city. The social heart of modern Tirana.
Surrounding the clinicDurrës beach (day trip)
The main Albanian Adriatic resort is 30 minutes from Tirana by car or bus. Long sandy beaches, shallow warm water, and beach restaurants at local prices. A practical day trip for patients with a free day during their stay.
30 min by car or busKrujë (day trip)
The hilltop city where Albanian national hero Skanderbeg resisted the Ottoman empire in the 15th century. A well-preserved Ottoman bazaar, a castle, and views across the Albanian plain. One of the most rewarding half-day trips from Tirana.
45 min by carDaily costs in Tirana
are roughly 40% of London
One of the unexpected advantages of travelling to Tirana for dental treatment is that the cost of living during your stay adds very little to the overall trip budget. Food, transport, and entertainment in Tirana are substantially cheaper than in any major Western European city.
A patient from London staying in the partner hotel, eating out twice a day, and using Uber for occasional trips should expect to spend 30 to 50 euros per day on living costs. For a 7-night stay that totals 210 to 350 euros on daily living, comparable to a modest budget holiday in a European city.
The arithmetic of the total trip cost is important. Many patients focus on the treatment price and forget to add the living costs for a week in Tirana. Even with living costs added, the total remains dramatically lower than the treatment price alone in the UK or Germany.
| Item | Cost in Tirana | Notes |

| Beer or local wine (bar) | 2 to 4 € | Korça beer, local wine varieties |
| Uber across the city | 3 to 6 € | Reliable, well-priced, app-based |
| City bus (one journey) | 0.30 to 0.50 € | Covers most of the city |
| Supermarket (daily groceries) | 8 to 15 € | Full-service supermarkets near the clinic |
| Pharmacy (over-counter medications) | 5 to 20 € | Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories typical post-treatment |
| Day trip to Durrës (bus return) | 3 to 5 € | Regular bus service from central Tirana |
| Museum entry (Bunk’Art etc.) | 2 to 5 € | Most Tirana museums have low entry fees |
| Estimated daily living budget | 30 to 50 € | Hotel, 2 meals, 2 to 3 coffees, local transport |
Why Tirana’s location makes the entire dental tourism model work
There is a geography argument behind every successful dental tourism destination, and Albania’s is unusually strong. Tirana sits at the centre of a triangle formed by the three largest concentrations of high dental prices in Europe: the United Kingdom to the northwest, Germany and Switzerland to the north, and Scandinavia further north still. All three are within 3 hours of Tirana by direct flight. All three have private dental prices that are three to five times higher than Tirana for the same materials and implant brands.
The combination of proximity and price difference is what separates Albania from other dental tourism destinations. Hungary, which has a longer dental tourism history, is close to Germany but less well-connected to the UK. Turkey offers lower prices but the flight from Northern Europe is longer and the implant brand ecosystem is different. Albania is close enough that a Monday morning flight and a Friday afternoon return is a realistic working-week schedule for someone who needs to minimise time away from their job.
The practical infrastructure around Andent Clinic in central Tirana reflects 18 years of serving international patients specifically. The hotel partnership, the airport transfer protocol, the multilingual coordination team, and the in-house laboratory turnaround time are all features that exist because the clinic has spent nearly two decades understanding what international patients need that local patients do not. A local patient can come back in two weeks for a minor adjustment. An international patient needs everything resolved within the visit.
For patients researching dental tourism destinations, the question of location is really a question of friction. How many connections does the journey require? How long does the travel take? How familiar and navigable is the city at the other end? On all three measures, Tirana performs well for the primary European patient markets. It is a direct flight from most of Western Europe, the journey is under three hours from London, and the city is safe, compact, and more English-friendly than its reputation suggests.
